Regulus hated some school days. He hated the lessons and what he was expected to do. He hated that he had to put up this act of who he was. Unfortunately most of the time he couldn’t be bothered with all of that stuff, so he used to have to go and have his private moments. Holing up just outside the forbidden forest he’d have a cigarette or something. That’s what he was doing now.
He knew it was an awful habit, and he knew if his mother found out he’d probably be dead, but he couldn’t help it. He’d been having them since he was rather young, and once the addiction set in, it set in him hard. Sitting with his back to a tree, he balanced the cigarette between his lips and lit it quickly. Instantly he inhaled the smoke and felt better. Blowing it out he watched the smoke coil and wrap around itself in that strangely soothing fashion. Chuckling to himself, he took another deep drag and lay back on the tree calmly.
He liked to be relaxing here, it was better than at home. In the holidays he often had to hide his cigarettes from his mother, and that was harder than trying to hide them from the teachers. He had no where to smoke them at home. And trying to buy them, that was a very hard ordeal. No, it was better to have them here. At least here he could beg them not to tell his mother. At home, she’d find out no matter what.

CAUSE I WANT TO SEE EVERYTHING THE WORLD HAS TO OFFER
The grounds seemed empty for once. Well, it had just recently rained - poured - so the reason was obvious. A lone Ravenclaw strode along the edge of the black lake, kicking a pebble as she went. From afar, one might have mistaken her as a third or fourth year; but the frown on her young face told a different story.
Milla could not help being a kind of loner from time to time. She was an oddity; did not seem to fit into any house, any class of people, or anything at all. From time to time, she did, because she slipped into a role somebody else desired. But she never felt quite comfortable those times. At home, she had to be a well-behaved Lady, curl her hair, put on make-up and exchange her colorful sneakers for pumps. This was death for her. As she strode through the grass this afternoon, she wore just what she liked, for lessons were over for the day; also, she was chewing her favorite brand of mint gum. But all that did not change the fact that she was on her own yet again - and yet again, she pushed off the thought that this was her fault. If only she had better self-control, she mused; she would not snap at her colleagues so often. But then again, if they were not such boring book-addicts who cared about nothing but manners and gossip, Milla would not need to get agitated.
Stupid houses, stupid girls, stupid school. In reality, the pureblood was happy that she was still in school. Being out of it would mean a lot more pressure and expectations from her parents' side than she already carried around everyday; and as tough as she liked to pretend she was, in principle Milla was only a playful girl who didn't feel like dressing in silk and high heels and smile sweetly while a husband told her what to do and what to stop.
Contemplating her unfair fate, the sixteen-year-old had lost track of where she was going, and was taken by surprise when she almost stumbled about somebody who was apparently lazing in the grass. "Woah!" Dark hair, handsome features, usually arrogant expression - this was the Seeker of the Slytherin team, Regulus Black. In the back of her head, Milla could hear her mother swoon about the boy. She rolled her eyes, instantly annoyed by this unexpected meeting. All her previous intentions to be less snappish were forgotten as soon as they had come to live. Was there no place on earth where she would be safe from all the pureblood clans? The Greengrass girl already opened her mouth to say something in an annoyed tone, and only then noticed the smoke around Regulus. This was now actually surprising.

When Regulus had come here, it was to try and get away from people. He hadn’t expected to be tripped over in such a blatant way but some girl. Okay it did have the humour of girls falling all over him, but though he liked that thought, he still didn’t like the literal sense. Watching her slightly, he moved his cigarette just behind him and raised an eyebrow. “What are you doing here Greengrass? I mean, I know girls like me, but I never saw you to fall for me.” He joked with a sly smirk on his face.
Watching her, he slowly attempted to stub the cigarette out on the tree. Just as he did, he accidentally held the burning end onto his flesh. Crying out he practically jumped out throwing the cigarette as far away from him as he could before his stuck his hurting thumb into his mouth. That wasn’t his smartest ideas, and now this girl would know about the cigarette. Looking up at her carefully, he tried to figure out if she’d tell anyone or not. He hoped she wouldn’t, but you could never really tell with people. Some of them were completely different to what they seemed. Regulus should know, he was that type of person.
“You tell anyone about that and I will make you pay.” He warned in a slightly warning tone. He was usually better at intimidation, but it didn’t work as well when you’d just burnt your finger on a cigarette and you’d just cried out in pain. Okay, he didn’t seem like the usual Slytherin boy he was, but hey, it didn’t matter, as long as she didn’t tell anyone that is.

CAUSE I WANT TO SEE EVERYTHING THE WORLD HAS TO OFFER
"What are you doing here Greengrass? I mean, I know girls like me, but I never saw you to fall for me"
Very warm welcome to you, too, Milla thought bitterly, and opened her mouth to snap back. Pureblood yes or no, physically stronger then her, well, whatever - she was not going to let anybody talk to her as if she was just some weird fangirl. Because if there was one thing she definitely wasn't, it was a fan of men. Not all of them were bad - but those she had been with were downright idiots. And from the looks of it, Regulus was not exactly a cool person, either.
A brown eyebrow went up as Milla listened his yelling and warning, and her mouth closed again. It was almost funny how he had thrown the stubb away with a yell, she thought, but she would not express any schadenfreude when somebody got physically hurt - except if they deserved it. Whether Regulus deserved it, she was not sure of yet.
";Don't wet your pants", she told Black with a roll of her eyes. "I wasn't going to tell anybody, I have seen others smoke. And one of them was most definitely a Prefect", she added. She moved closer to him, but only to put one leg over him and then the other. Milla would definitely not stick around somebody who was just like those she just got away from in the common room. Selffocused, stuck-up, boring. She hoped deeply that she would not have to marry into his family as she started to step away from him.

Regulus watched her slowly and could see that she wanted to tell him something. But it went away once he burnt his thumb. He watched her curiously when she said she wouldn’t tell anyone. He chuckled once. “You could get a Slytherin into deep trouble, and I never said anything about getting into trouble. To be honest, I don’t care about the school rules, it’s more about my friends not finding out. Muggle habits, not exactly approved.”
He fished the packet of cigarettes out of his pocket and pulled another out, lighting it quickly and taking a deep drag from it and sighed out, letting the smoke blow out of his nose. He looked over at the girl and offered her the packet. “You want one?” He asked calmly, thinking that since she said she wouldn’t tell anybody, he might as well try to be nice for her. She wasn’t his usual type, but he could at least talk to her a bit.
Milla Greengrass was a little like Sirius to her family. He pushed his hair back and looked up at the branches above him. He liked being here, it wasn’t too sheltered, but it wasn’t too open. Enough to hide him away from everyone else, but not enough that he could get lost. Turning to Milla he looked around. “So what exactly are you doing here Greengrass? Besides to catch me doing something I’m not supposed to.”

CAUSE I WANT TO SEE EVERYTHING THE WORLD HAS TO OFFER
Truth be told, Milla had not even expected Regulus to keep talking. He seemed to be the type who would look past other persons a lot, and most of all past girls like her; after all, he and his brother were known for their girl stories, and Milla did not fit into the raster of pretty, long-haired girls with blue eyes who shut their mouths at the right time. True, Sirius was much more the Lady's man than Regulus, but since Milla was in sixth year, too, she knew quite some stories about the younger Black as well. "If you think talking to me will get you any benefits, think again", she warned him, and eyed the package of cigarettes he offered her.
She popped her gum then decided to sit down after all. Maybe he wasn't so bad, or he had been taught the art of sharing. "I don't usually smoke", she said cautiously, but took one anyways. Just to spite her parents, or her life, maybe. "Thanks." The grass was still wet from the rain, and Milla did not lean back as much as Regulus. She was too wary of him, still. "I was just getting away from the nerdy stuck-ups they like to call Ravenclaws", she said gloomily, waving her lady's tie at him; it was black and blue. Not that she disliked all people from her house; but she was pretty sure that she was the least studious person that house had seen. She was smart, yes, but studious? Only when she had to. And that meant, only when her parents pushed her.

He chuckled at her comment about him getting benefits. “You offend me Greengrass, I understand that I can be…well…you know, but I would never ask anyone for benefits by just talking to them. It takes more than that you know?” He grinned at her and shook his head. “I’m not here to ask you for anything, or something like that.”
He chuckled when Milla said she didn’t smoke. “Well it’s there if you want one.” He said calmly. Once she took the cigarette he handed her his lighter. Blowing out more smoke he savoured it slightly. These moments were his favourite. Time he had to himself, time to think and just be himself more than anything. Scratching his head slightly he listened to why she was here and frowned. “You’re a Ravenclaw though…you saying your house is crap? I thought you’d have some house pride Greengrass.”
Rubbing his face he shook his head. “So what have they done now? Just being stuck up? I thought it was Slytherins who were supposed to be like that.” He joked lightly flicking the ash calmly onto the ground. He didn’t usually relax around people this much, he had a guard he put up, something that he did to hide his true feelings about the purist thoughts his mother had drummed into him from such an early age.

"Pft, yeah right, I bet it takes so much." her face was stressed, but Milla's features were rather relaxed. If he should do anything to her - and she had seen Slytherins from her year trying to do things to girls from other houses which were not really funny - she could always hex him. And besides, she knew his family, and he knew hers; he would be pretty dumb to try anything. From what Milla knew, the Black brothers were rather bright.
She listened to his comment about houses, and shrugged. "Yes, Ravenclaw, well. It has nothing to do with pride, I didn't found the house or anything... I am just not really as much into studying as the others. And we do have a lot of stuck-ups, loving their rules and manners, and.. being not cool at all." She felt blunt for a moment for expressing herself like this, but then dismissed it. Since when did she give a Knut on how she would express herself?
She took a draw on the cigarette. The girl didn't exactly like the taste, but it was different to the gum she usually chew, and she blew it out quite expertly, holding it between two fingers. "They didn't do anything. That's the problem."

“It does actually.” Regulus chuckled. “It involves a lot of making eyes at girls, and a lot of flirting, it take a lot out of a boy.” Reg said grinning at her. He knew he got around a bit, he liked it that way. He didn’t like committing to girls, he liked something to get his mind off things, and most of the girls helped him do that, even if it was only for a little while.
“Yes, but you should be proud of your house anyway, I am.” He chuckled. “Well Ravenclaws are supposed to be smart and all of that, I expect them to do a lot of studying and rules and manners and all of that. Most of them are the first in the class.” He chuckled. “But I know what you mean, sometimes I hate my house too, well sometimes anyway.”
He watched her slowly and grinned slightly as he let out another breath of smoke. “Ah so bored are you? That doesn’t sound like a lot of fun.” He said chuckling as he pushed his hair back. “It can’t be that bad, you must like some of them I mean.” He shrugged. “There has to be someone, there is everywhere I think.” He said slowly.

Milla eyed her classmate up and down. "Oh really", she said, not very impressed. "I almost feel sorry for you boys. Luckily for us girls, you behave like courting paradise birds, so it's like cold buffet." This, she did not really mean; but her sarcasm took the better of her. In reality, Milla was the last girl who would just go for any good-looking boy, just because he was there and a pretty accessoire. A lot more was needed to make her interested. Humour, for example. And a difference. Maybe a hint of madness.
She took another draw on the cigarette, deciding that smoking just wasn't for her. Either way, now that Milla had started the cigarette, she would finish it before throwing in the good old mint gum. "You're proud of Slytherin? You do know that almost all those rabies killers out there were in Slytherin, right?" She frowned slightly. Maybe Regulus would take offence, and her mouth had been too fast again. What if he also admired You-Know-Who? Enough people in Slytherin were aspiring to become Death Eaters, purebloods being the nextbest. Milla had learned enough of that at home to know.
"Yes, yes, I guess some are okay", she mumbled absent-mindedly. "But it's not like I want to spend my life with them. Or nice afternoons where I really could think of something that's more fun than studying. But, you know, if my parents had gotten their will I would have been in your house, and I can't imagine myself being happy there, either, frankly."

Regulus chuckled slightly at her comment. “Ahh, I’m a courting paradise bird? I’ve never been called that. But, I guess in some way you’re right, though I hope that instead of feathers we’re alright with my hair.” He chuckled jokily. He looked down at his cigarette and flicked the final bits of ash away and stubbed it out, on a tree this time, keeping it away from his flesh.
“Hey, no matter how you look at Slytherin, we have ambition, and we have some decent people in there. Granted there aren’t many, but at least there are some.” He said watching her slowly. “Okay…what’s good about it? I mean you’ve got a half decent Quidditch team, you’ve got to be pleased with that.” He commented calmly as he flicked on his lighter, watching the fire burning next to his finger tips.
“Well that’s the trouble isn’t it? You’re stuck with them. So you might as well try to get on with them.” He shrugged slightly. He had to deal with it when it came to the Slytherins, some of them he really didn’t like, unfortunately he always felt like he had to get on with them. For family pride and because he didn’t want to be the outcast of Slytherin.

At the comment about his hair, Milla looked at it and snorted. In reality, she liked dark hair like his, a lot; but it wasn't in her blood to admit to something like that like some swoony schoolgirl. "Your hair looks like something tried to eat it, Black", she said with a sarcastic tone. Yes, that was more like it. "Polluuuutiooon", she added when he put the cigarette out against her tree, but after a moment she added hers.
"Half decent?! Excuse me, our team is awsome. Especially the beaters", she added, wriggling her brow. "I think you already felt the wrath of my bludger", she added with a grin. Milla actually knew this for certain. She enjoyed getting in the seekers' ways most of all, because it usually meant that she directly prevented the other team from winning. The topic of Quidditch lifted her mood considerably.
"Stuck, yes, but not forever", she mumbled. At least she hoped so.

Smiling he chuckled and shook his head lightly. “My hair doesn’t look like something tried to eat it. At least my hair doesn’t look like I haven’t brushed it in four months.” He replied eying up her hair lightly. He didn’t think it, but he still said it to retaliate to her. He liked a good retaliation. He rolled his eyes when she said about pollution. “We’re in a forest, I’m sure there’s been a lot worse things happen in here than one cigarette being stubbed out on it.” He said nodding.
He chuckled again when she said about the team. “So therefore you’re proud of something that has come from your house?” He pointed out smiling rather triumphantly. He was good at that, well, pulling out the bits that he was right in. He liked being right and it didn’t come that often, so when he was he’d usually flaunt it. Pushing his hair back slightly he chuckled. “A few times maybe.” He said about the wrath of her bludger. He knew the amazing aim and how painful the bludgers from her way were. He wasn’t willing to feel it again in a hurry.
He smiled slightly. “Well, enjoy the time now, we’re sixth years, you can terrorise the first years or something, tell them that if they don’t do well in their classes, they get thrown into the dungeon or get thrown out of the school altogether.” He chuckled when he remembered how he’d told some of the first years in his house that. He’d never seen a Slytherin in the library for so long before! Who? Milla Wearing? something like this Notes? Sorry this took so long to reply to I feel bad

CAUSE I WANT TO SEE EVERYTHING THE WORLD HAS TO OFFER
"It does", Milla said simply, with a smile. It was fun to argue with him, she thought, because Regulus actually said something back. He did not seem completely lose just yet, but the girl was already surprised about how far she had come in talking to him without being really annoyed, as she got with most people. "Oh as if I meant that", she muttered, meaning the pollution comment. Alright, she wasn't one who would let their rubbish fly around everywhere. But some people just took the whole topic too far, she believed.
"You miss the point", Milla answered, popping her gum afterwards. "Everybody in the team would be just as good without a house. It's not like we got the talent by receiving blue and black ties." The Ravenclaw did not make any more comment about the bladgers; she was not one to boast or talk about what she could do a lot. When others did that to her, she was bored, so why would others feel any differently?
When Regulus talked about annoying first years, Milla smiled, but also frowned a little. "I really have better things to do that think of pranking first years... I think", she added, and laughed. In all honesty, she did not always have something to do at all. Like today. One of the traits of not having a lot of friends.

Regulus rolled his eyes when Milla said it did but grinned at her at the same time. He chuckled. “If you didn’t mean that, what was the point in saying it at all?” He joked as he nudged her lightly. He of course was just messing around with her, he didn’t really care what she’d said it, he was just being polite.
“Aha but if there were no houses, there would be no teams, and therefore the talent came from your house, and therefore you should be happy that there are a few good players in your house that you should be proud of.” He shrugged, knowing he probably wasn’t making any sense at all, but still he tried to speak some sense. He wasn’t particularly articulate when he hadn’t thought about what he was speaking about.
He chuckled. “Then you’ll have to tell me what you do, I have nothing better to do.” He said as he lay his head back on the tree and stretching. “Sometimes I wish there was more to Hogwarts than friends, work and such.” He said sighing as he cracked his knuckles calmly. He was often bored out of his mind, especially when it came to having to pretend to be someone he wasn’t. Hogwarts was supposed to be the best times of his life, and yet he was pretty sure they weren’t as grand as they were supposed to be.
