wand; 11” Mahogany (core unknown)
blood status; pure blood
patronus; See, when you’re James Potter, there are a LOT of wonderful memories to choose from, and half of those memories contain a certain redhead. But some are those with his bestfriends. Either way, his patronus takes the form of a stag, coincidentally the same animal he transforms to.
boggart; Lily standing beside a tall, faceless man. And he ends up with a pureblood girl with whom his mother set him up with. Lily, the Marauders, his parents, facedown, unconscious, still, dead. Riddikulus!
mirror of erised; James sees a vision of his preferred future as this: His arm around Lily (she likes it, for a change) , with more or less a dozen kids around them. Although during his younger years, he used to fantasize about being a professional Chaser on the national Quidditch team.
amortenia; fresh air of the Quidditch pitch; Lily Evans' perfume; fireworks/firecrackers
veritaserum; He wants to be an Auror but he doesn't really want to work after Hogwarts; He went out with Lily's best friend in fourth year, but didn't tell her.
magical background; James Potter was a pureblood: his family was well-known in their world. All the Hogwarts letter ever meant to him was finally getting his train ticket to Hogwarts, but he knew since he was a kid that he'd be going there when he turned eleven.

likes; Lily Evans. quidditch. brooms. Transfiguration. chocolate frogs. every-flavor beans. the Marauders. Lily Evans. pranks. sneaking off to Hogsmeade. his Invisibility Cloak. Oh, and Lily Evans.

turn ons; red hair; green eyes; intelligence; sense of humor
turn offs; bossy; know-it-alls; people who don't like Quidditch
strengths; transfiguration. Quidditch. defense against the dark arts. weakness; any time Lily gets mad at him for some reason. James does quite a lot of stupid things just for his friends. divination
personality; James has always been how Lily has described him. Proud, confident, and a bully. But from his point of view, this is all just because he has something to be proud of. He doesn’t necessarily get the highest grades in class, but he scrapes by fairly. He only got three O’s during their O.W.L.s, but it didn’t matter. He had no intention of working after finishing Hogwarts. They were rich, so he knew that even if he didn’t find employment after graduating, he’d still be able to lead a steady life with his family.
He was confident, only on the Quidditch pitch. He knew that the only reason McGonagall picked him for team captain was because he was the best player in Gryffindor. Sure, he was a friendly, approachable student in the school hallways, but in during practices, he would turn into this freak who wanted nothing less that dedication to the team. He wanted serious practices, for these matches were not a laughing matter. He wanted dedication, determination and he knew that they would win every match they had if they would all practice like they were supposed to.
A bully. Hmm. Not much, really. But Slytherins are an exception. Especially that greasy-haired git, Severus Snape. The real reason why he hates the young Slytherin was because of jealousy. He grew envious that Snape could be able to talk to Lily without being yelled at, or hexed. Up until their fifth year, that is.
James valued friendship more than anything. He struggled to learn how to become Animagi because one of his friends was a werewolf who they had to accompany once a month. He hated the Dark Arts, and he despised anyone who worshipped it.

hair; He has jet-black hair which is always messy. But he never finds the need to keep it down. In fact, he often runs his hand through his hair to make sure that it didn’t stay flat.
eyes; James eyes are hazel in color. An aunt of his described them as almond shaped. James refused to believe her since he didn’t like the taste of almonds.
face; basics, shape & stuff

family history; James’ father, Charlus Potter, came from a wealthy and respected family. They were a pure blood family line, which granted them a high status in the wizarding world, for Potter was a well-known last name. One would say that it was similar to the Black ancestry. Yes, in a way, it was. There was only one difference. The Potters were bloodtraitors. They all married purebloods; their blood is as pure as you can get. But they never looked down upon half-bloods or muggleborns. It was possibly pure coincidence that none of them had married anyone but a pureblood.
Dorea Black had heard of the Potters, and she was warned not to befriend any of them, for they betrayed pureblood wizards everywhere for mingling with the likes of half-bloods. But this didn’t stop her from meeting James’ father. She left home, after being promptly blasted off the Black family tree when she mentioned that she was marrying a Potter. No one knew that her maiden name was Dorea Black. Whenever the fact that no one knew about her side of the family raised questions, but all she said was she had a bad childhood and didn’t want to take a trip down memory lane.
personal history; James Charles Potter was born to them on the night of the 27th of March. Both his parents were not exactly young when they had him; his mother was already 40. Because of this, he had been given everything he wanted, whenever he wanted it. Being an only child, he had both his parents’ attentions all the time. His father had always told him that no matter how being a pureblood is something he must be lucky to be, he must not look upon others as completely different from him. His mother had nothing to say about the topic, for even though she had turned her back on the ‘Noble and Most Ancient House of Black’, she had still grown up to hearing her parents complaining about how mudbloods and halfbloods were befouling the magical blood they had been bestowed with.
He was 11, it was the day he would finally get to go to Hogwarts. ‘Gryffindor!’ his father always said. His mother said that she was a Ravenclaw, but she wanted him to be in Gryffindor as well. And so he was placed in the house of the brave.
James was home on a summer afternoon just after his fourth year at Hogwarts. He told his parents all about a certain Gryffindor redhead – how she was the best in their class, she was responsible, smart, studious and beautiful – over lunch. They both seemed to like her, until his mother raised a simple question. “Her blood status?” Dorea asked her son while she put away the dishes. “Pureblood?”
“Uh, no, Mum,” he replied carefully.
“A half-blood, then, son?” Charlus prodded, noticing his son’s hesitation. James simply shook his head. “She’s Muggleborn, Dad,” he said, not quite meeting either of his parents’ piercing gaze. At this, his mother stood up sharply, shot him a look that was both mad and disappointed, and left the room. He looked questioningly at his father, who gave him an equally confused look. Until a few seconds later, comprehension dawned upon Charlus, and he went after his wife. James was left in a haze of confusion.
He somehow ended up in the living room, and his eyes fell upon a small envelope, half-concealed behind a thin stack of papers on the small coffee table. Curiosity came at him and he read the formal-looking letters on the envelope.
Mrs. Dorea Black-Potter
Godric’s Hollow
West Country, England
He hastily put back the envelope to where he found it, just a few seconds before his father reappeared. “Son,” he said. “Forgive your mother, she had a bad experience concerning muggles when she was younger. This led to her believing that muggles – and muggleborns, for that matter – were untrustworthy. If it’s possible, James, stay away from this girl. It would just upset your mother if you continue what you have with Miss Evans.”
This little incident gave him much more determination to ask Lily out and prove to his parents that it didn’t matter to him what blood status one had. He was still waiting for his mother to tell him the truth, why she reacted that way when she learned that Lily Evans was a muggleborn. But by his sixth year, he stopped asking her out. He stopped pestering her, following her wherever she went. He distanced himself from her, hoping to convince himself to follow his mother’s wishes.

roleplaying sample;James tried his best not to raise his voice. He was talking to June, and never did he want to yell at her. But something was taking over him and he didn’t even try to stop it. Anger was getting the best of him and he let it, because he knew that he had every reason to be angry. He wasn’t going to become some martyr who stood quietly while his girlfriend was off with another guy just because he loved her. Even him – a guy who has been chasing after a girl for four years – can only take so much.
When June confirmed once more that she had indeed kissed some other guy that was not him, he didn’t care who saw anymore. Then she went on talking about how she knew that he still loved Lily. “Then it’s not just me, is it? You claim that you know I still love Lily, but you never heard it from me. And you just admitted that you still love Zander. So you never loved me completely, then?” he countered.
“What if I tell you I did?” he laughed humorlessly. “What if I did feel a connection that night?” His mind flew back to a few weeks ago: their spring break. The night they spent together, it was amazing for him. It was that night where he realized that he had to let go completely of his past and face his future with June. A future where Lily was only a friend. He had accepted that, but it all turned out to be for nothing. All his efforts for up until this point was completely worthless. June had made sure of that for him.
“You still doubt that I don’t love you?!” he said as soon as she turned him around.“Yeah, I couldn’t agree more. Whatever we had? Over.” Some part of him was scolding himself on how he could do this. How could he watch her crying and not feel any sympathy? She deserves it. But still, James couldn’t deny that June had helped him a lot.
His anger might be overpowering the rest of him, but James definitely felt an urge to hug her, kiss her, wipe her tears away, apologize and say that it wasn’t her fault. But he knew, even June knew, that there wasn’t any hope left for them. It didn’t matter if anyone did anything; there was no way to save their relationship. It would just be disastrous for them if they continued living in this so-called lie.
Had Glenn waited for a second more, James’ pretense would have come tumbling down and he would have wrapped his arms around her. But he arrived at the unluckiest moment; all of James’ anger came back full force. He looked familiar, but it was probably only because they had played against each other on the Quidditch pitch. June had added the fact that she went behind his back with Glenn to the already existent house rivalry between the Gryffindor Quidditch captain and the Ravenclaw Seeker.
Did she arrange for Glenn to be here as well when she broke the news to him? Did she really want to shove it in his face that Glenn was the man she chose to replace him with? It seemed like his entrance was planned between the two of them. He was probably waiting for the right moment, where James was obviously close to breaking. He saw the fifth year’s hand on his wand, which led James to conclude that he took advantage of his vulnerability to pick a fight with him. Did he really think that having a broken heart – or something close to that – would decrease James’ dueling capabilities?
“Oh, you’ll get your wish, Alexander,” he growled, not wanting to use his first name. “I didn’t make her cry, she did this all to herself. But if you really do want to take the blame for it, that can be easily arranged.” James grabbed him roughly by his collar, bringing his face closer to his so he would hear James’ whispered words. “How dare you.”He let go of him just as suddenly as he grabbed him.
The next thing he knew, his right hand was curled up in a fist as he aimed a punch at his jaw. Frankly, he didn’t care if it hit him or not. It just seemed like a good idea to vent all his anger at him, he had more or less suggested it. Pulling back, he reached for his wand and aimed it at him. “What do you have against me?” he said in an accusing tone. “Why did it have to be June? Don’t tell me crap like ‘It just happened.’” He lowered his wand a few inches and looked him directly in the eye. “Start talking.”
